Cats Protection

The Cats Protection offer BARK valuable support by providing neutering vouchers for all the cats in our care. Not only is this of enormous benefit to BARK but immeasureable benefit to the cats in our community.

Formed in 1927, Cats Protection has grown to become the UK's leading feline welfare charity. They now rehome and reunite 55,500 cats and kittens every year, through their network of 256 voluntary-run branches and 29 adoption centres.

Their work doesn't stop there though: they also provide an array of cat care information via their publication, Website and National Helpline, they promote the benefits of neutering for a happier pet and distribute education packs to two thirds of schools in the UK. Please visit their website to discover more about Cats Protection's work and services.

The Blue Cross

Blue Cross Logo The Blue Cross works closely with a number of organisations on its core aims of promoting animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. In April 2008 Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels was proud to become an Associate of the Blue Cross.

The Blue Cross mission: Provide care, promote companionship - enhance animal and human lives

The Blue Cross is a registered UK animal welfare charity. Our aims are to:

  • ensure the welfare of animals by providing practical care
  • highlight the benefits of companionship between animals and people
  • promote a sense of respect and responsibility towards animals in the community

We provide support to the nation's pets and their owners by:

  • treating pets whose owners cannot afford private veterinary treatment
  • finding permanent homes for unwanted or abandoned animals
  • educating the public in responsible animal ownership
