Picture of Rumplestiltskin Picture of Rumplestiltskin Picture of Rumplestiltskin Picture of Rumplestiltskin Hello, We wanted to let you know how Rumplestiltskin is getting along since we got him from you last summer. He has settled in really well, and gets along well with our other cat Ozzy and it looks like romance is blossoming between them (you may have to buy a new hat!). We were also amazed how he reacted to our dog, Meg. When he arrived he just swaggered past her and they too have developed quite a close bond, he definitely puts her in her place! His personality is shining through, and we are enjoying getting to know all about his favourite past times which include sitting in any box, having a snooze in the cow shed, and chilling out on the radiator. We are all very happy with him, he really is part of the family now and he is getting excited about our new arrival of chickens! Thank you

Picture of Charlie Bailey rehomed Jan 2010.

Hi there all who do wonderful work at B.A.R.K. We rehomed Bailey (and have kept the name he was given) and how he has settled in here. He is such a loving little Terrier it's a shame he was in the kennels to start off with. He loves his walks in the neighbouring field (always on the extendable lead) and out in the back garden he loves to fetch and bring back his ball. He gets to have a bit of play in the house too. He gets on well with the neighbours dogs too (they are bitches) and he likes to play about, he's in his element here. Bailey loves his biscuits and must always have a good selection in his bowl, but looks forward to his dinner time when he gets a tin of caesar (he absolutely devours it) and always has a clean bowl. Bailey has been well taught before and is a very obedient, caring and loving wee soul and we love him so much. Here are a few pictures of him so far, and I hope you agree he's found his place for keeps. Many thanks on giving us the chance to love and give another animal a loving home.

She is very loving and affectionate and has come right out her shell and is really quite the wee character still loving a gd cuddle on the couch after a hard day playing. She also got a new friend when my boyfriend moved in and as you can see they get on perfectly, hes done wonders for her confidence :) Thank you so much again from the bottom of her hearts, Rusty was definitly just what our family needed :)

Please find attached some photos of the rabbit we adopted from you recently. Her name was Coffee but she is now called Jemima. She lives in the house along with our Border Collie and has a life of luxury. She has her own chair and is now famous on Facebook as she sits with her new Mum Zoe on the laptop after school every day!

Picture of Ruby n Lilly Picture of Ruby n Lilly Just a wee hello from Ruby and Lily.

We just wanted to let you know that we are settling in just fine with our new mummy and daddy and our big sisters Chloe and Alice. We were a wee bit unsure at first of our new surroundings and all the attention we were getting, but we're getting used to it now. I love to get my tummy rubbed and the top of my head scratched, it makes me happy. But Lily is still quite shy except at meal times, she comes with me and says please to mummy for her dinner. Hopefully she'll come round soon. We have found lots of fun places to hide and climb and we have lots of new toys to play with. We've had a bit of a smashing time so mummy has moved all obstacles out of our way so that we can play. Lots of love Ruby & Lily x x

Picture of Skye Hi, just thought I'd drop you a quick line to let you know how Skye is getting along. She is the most pleasant girl, loves everyone and everything, she's full of mischief and gallops round like a mad thing. She greets everyone with a gift - doesn't matter what - toys, shoes, socks, you name it and when her tail wags (which is nearly all the time) then her whole body wags too! She is perfect in the bar and greets everyone like she's known them all her life and out for a walk she is brilliant both on and off the lead. In the snow she had a great time, bouncing like a spring lamb! There's no bother taking tablets and she always clears her dish, which she never starts until told to, by the way. She is devoted to her beloved pal and sister, little Winnie. They do everything together. All in all she's just a wonderful girl and companion.

Picture of Ziggy Ziggy rehomed Sept 2009

We hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and were not troubled too much by the snow!

Ziggy had a wonderful holiday - the house was quite busy on Christmas day with lots of new people for him to see. They were all warned not to try and stroke or pet him in advance and they all complied. Ziggy met each one at the door with a wagging tail and then once he was satisfied that they were no threat he just sat quietly in the middle of the floor and ignored them. By the end of the day everyone remarked on how relaxed and obedient he was which made us very proud of him.

Santa Claus was very good to him and he had a pile of gifts to open - and each one was sniffed and personally unwrapped by himself. It was comical as he took each new toy into the centre of the room and added it to a pile. Once complete he lay in front of the pile, picking up each toy in turn, then placing it carefully back before picking up the next - this went on for a good hour.

He really enjoys snow and being outside with me when I am clearing the drive - it makes the job three times harder as I tend to shovel the same bit of snow several times as he leaps up to catch it in mid air!!

He has also enjoyed his first bath - yes I mean enjoyed it! He stood quietly as I wet him with the shower head and stretched with pleasure as the soap was rubbed in. If I can do that to him I have no fears for anything else that we do together. PS Ziggy is sitting with his head on my lap while I write this.......and snoring gently!!

Picture of John John rehomed Feb 2010

Hello, I brought home John the kitten with me today and just thought I'd let you know how he's settled so far. Well, we renamed him Meeko for various reasons and at first he his a lot. We let him come out in his own time though and now he is running round happily and purring all the time. He has come out of his shell lots and though he doesn't sit for long when held he loves to be stroked and laps up the attention. He found his bed fairly quickly and happy sleeps in it - he doesn't want to leave it now I've put a lovely hot water bottle under the cushion for him! He is going to be a very spoiled cat!!

His favourite game so far is chasing the furry bit on the end of a stick! I am amazed as he will stand on his back legs for about twenty seconds when it's held above him. He had had a brief encounter with the dog which went well but we will introduce them more tomorrow.

I shall keep you updated about all his progress and have also attached a picture of him in his lovely bed. Thank you so much,

Oliver and Ollie Rehomed Feb 2010

.....have settled in really well, are both out and about today for food and attention and have decided that the dogs are too stupid to be worried about. We're absolutely delighted.

Picture of Suzie Susie rehomed Feb 2010

Susie had her visit to the vet last night, she is fine and had her first injection, she hasn't gained anymore weight but hasn't lost any either. She is going on long walks everyday after mucking out the stables and we have moved her of a night up to Katherine's room, this seems to work and she just lies down and goes to sleep without any fuss at all. She is getting used to our routine and I think in a few more weeks will not need to have us in her sights 24 hours a day. We are enjoying having her around and will come in and visit soon.

Picture of Louie Picture of Louie Picture of Louie I have just been reading the lovely updates from those animals who have been lucky enought to have found lovely new homes. I thought I would share my update to!

I got Louie from B.A.R.K in November 2008 when he was a 9 week old ball of fluff, he has grown into a beautiful, friendly boy who is a wonderful addition to my family. He has settled with my other 2 cats wonderfully and I am consider myself VERY lucky to have found him.......

Keep up the good work B.A.R.K so that other animals can make other families as happy as Louie has made mine.

Picture of Hope Millie rehomed Jan 2010

Just to let you know she is getting on fine. She has doubled her size since leaving BARK but she is still a tiny thing. She has met lots of dogs and owners and is always delighted to meet anyone. She is well known in Coldstream for all the right reasons!

She has her second puppy class tonight...although the smallest she shows no signs of nerves! just impatience that she cannot play with all the dogs. She can now sit on command, come back (although still on an extender lead) and is nearly housetrained. She experienced the beach for the first time on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it.

She has made a big difference to our lives and we are thoroughly enjoying her company.
