Dogs this week wanting a new home.
Please remember when taking a rescue dog he/she will need time to adjust, you must be patient. We do ask for a donation towards our well run kennels, we rely on your generosity. Thank you for supporting BARK.
We carry out home visits before placing any of our dogs. Due to cost and time implications we try to keep this within a 20 mile area of our centre. However, in certain circumstances we can do visits further afield, but would ask you to be patient. There is often more than one home interested in a dog and we will carry out all home visits before deciding what is best for the specific dog. However, just because a dog is placed elsewhere does not mean a home is unsuitable for a dog. When lucky dogs have the choice of more than one home we try our very best to get it right for them.
Thank you for viewing our website. Don't forget about our small animal section.
The animals below are not currently in our kennels but are being rehomed from their own homes. If you would like further information please contact the kennels so we may put you in touch.
Elsa is 6 years old and a nice girl. She needs to be the only dog in the home as she prefers to have her owners all to herself. She has been on a diet and is doing very well and she is enjoying her exercise. She's been with us so long she thinks she should sit on the staff's tea break bench!
Chaz is around 7 years old and a very handsome springer. Chaz needs a home, probably with a single older owner. He loves his walks but also enjoys quiet time and time to be on his own undisturbed. He is sociable around people and appears ok with other dogs when off lead and he has been fine while walking with dogs at the kennels. Chaz would be ok to have visiting children but he does like a bit of peace now he is more senior in years. He can be a bit of grump when he wants his kip, so a like minded owner and he would probably be well suited.
Cleo is a nice dog, around 18 months old. She will benefit from some back to basic training in some areas but she is very friendly and keen to please and will pick new things up easily. She is some sort of boxer cross.
Rio is 5 years ol and an energetic dog. She has lived wiht children and a cat and just loves to play with a tennis ball. She gets on with other dogs but can be very enthusiastic with her greetings. She is a little bit of a puller on lead but will learn quickly. She does need some work on her recall but she is keen to please and her love of a tennis ball will make this part of her training enjoyable.
Harley has now joined us at kennels. He is very handsome and can be a bit of a softy. However, Harley needs to know his place and an experienced home will be beneficial to him. He is just 18 months old and enjoys pleasing his owner. He walks well on lead and enjoys playing with his toys. Harley will need time to settle into a new home and learn his proper place.
For more information on Harley's individual needs please contact the kennels.
Pip is just 5 months old and a rottie cross. She appears to have a gentle nature and has lived with both young children and cats. Pip, obviously being just a pup, will need to learn the rules of living in a house, but she certainly has the nature to turn into a wonderful companion, given the correct input.
J.J is an 18 month old German Shepherd cross. He is a beautiful big boy and although worried at new situations he has a loving nature and likes to be close. He has always lived with another dog and this may be beneficial to him in the future.
Duke has only just come in and is around 2 years old. He has had a rough time and we are still assessing his needs. However he appears to be a very loving and forgiving dog. For more information please contact the kennels.
Lilly and Mally are looking for a new home together. They are said to be lovely dogs and the current owners are heartbroken they are having to rehome them. They say
Hello my name is Lilly and I am a bit of an old girl now at 13 years but am still fit and healthy and can still play a bit. I am a full bred American bulldog and unfortunately wasn’t treated very well when I was younger as they made me have lots of pups, and kept me in a greenhouse. I was rescued by my current owners when I was about 6 and love everyone who shows me love and attention. I am okay with older children but can’t really be bothered too much with younger ones or other dogs. I live with another dog at the moment called Mally but I’ve looked after him since he was a pup so would be really pleased o stay with him.
I would just like somewhere warm and comfortable to lie my old bones and someone to love me. I don’t make any noise and even though I am quite big I am a gentle giant who loves being fussed.
Hi my name is Mally and I am 6 years old. I am a cross between a rotweiller and a Staffordshire bull. I am a very loving boy who would like lots of attention and cuddles. I like children especially someone who could play with me as I love to run around. I am not too keen on other dogs especially if they bark at me but I do live with another dog called Lilly at the moment. We would l0ve to stay together as she’s like my mum.
I m great with other animals and used to live with a rabbit and hamster and would never hurt them.
I am healthy but I do have epilepsy and have to take 2 tablets in the morning and at night. I have a fit on average once a month but the vet said I can still live a normal life and that they don’t hurt me. They can be brought on by stress so I hope I can find a nice friendly new home.
